Swinging Tag for Gift Box

A decorative hanging tag featuring a fussy-cut house and flowers, attached to the box lid with cotton string and a knot. The tag swings freely and adds a charming finishing touch to the gift box.

Step by step

1. Fussy cut the house and flower design from the stamped sheet, keeping the oversized elements for visual impact. ▶ watch 26:45
2. Cut a length of cotton string or twine. ▶ watch 27:15
3. Glue or tape the cotton string to the back of the fussy-cut design, positioning it under the centre of the design. ▶ watch 27:45
4. Tie the two ends of the string together in a knot to create a loop. ▶ watch 28:15
5. Trim one end of the string short and tape it to the back of the tag to hide the knot. ▶ watch 28:30
6. Attach the tag to the front of the gift box using tape or glue. ▶ watch 29:00

Tips from the show

• Hide the string knot and tape joins by sticking a matching fussy-cut element or plain white backing to the reverse of the tag.
