Carnival Starburst Card with Ink Swiping

Create a vibrant card using the Carnival 3D embossing folder with cascading stars and starburst lines. Apply ink directly to the embossing folder using a swiping technique on coloured cardstock, then add metallic accents for a striking, dimensional design.

Step by step

1. Select a piece of pink or coloured cardstock. ▶ watch 33:15
2. Take the Carnival 3D embossing folder and apply ink directly to the folder using an ink pad or swiping technique. ▶ watch 33:30
3. Place your cardstock into the inked embossing folder. ▶ watch 33:45
4. Run the cardstock through your die-cutting machine to emboss and transfer the ink in one step. ▶ watch 34:00
5. Remove the card and observe the inked starburst and star cascade design. ▶ watch 34:15
6. Optionally add gold or metallic wax to highlight the raised elements. ▶ watch 34:30

Tips from the show

• When swiping ink into the embossing folder, do both sides and then pick which side you prefer.
• You can experiment with spraying water on the folder before running it through for different effects.
• Add a sentiment in the centre of the starburst to complete the card design.
