Pebble Dash Embossed Card with Watercolour

Create a textured card using the Pebble Dash 3D embossing folder on black cardstock, then add watercolour washes in gold and white to highlight the embossed detail. The result is an elegant card with dimensional pebble or bubble textures and metallic accents.

Step by step

1. Take a piece of black cardstock and place it into the Pebble Dash 3D embossing folder. ▶ watch 17:45
2. Run the cardstock through your die-cutting machine to emboss the pebble pattern. ▶ watch 18:00
3. Remove the embossed card and examine both the embossed and debossed sides. ▶ watch 18:15
4. Wet your brush and pick up gold metallic watercolour ink. ▶ watch 19:00
5. Lightly brush the gold ink across one side of the embossed card, allowing it to settle into the texture. ▶ watch 19:30
6. Pick up white watercolour ink on your brush and apply it to the other side of the card. ▶ watch 20:00
7. Allow the inks to dry, then optionally sand the surface to enhance the texture effect. ▶ watch 20:30
8. Experiment by placing the embossed card into a different embossing folder for a layered effect if desired. ▶ watch 21:00

Tips from the show

• Have the courage to flip the embossing folder over and use the debossed side as an alternative design.
• You can use the embossing folder on various cardstock colours; pearl card gives a beautiful halo effect.
• The embossing folders are indestructible and super affordable, giving you excellent output from something small.
