Foliage-Only Layered Card

Showcase the foliage dies as standalone elements on a simple card. Layer various foliage pieces with embossing folders and inky backgrounds to create a sophisticated design without flowers.

Step by step

1. Emboss a card blank using an embossing folder to create texture. ▶ watch 39:30
2. Cut various foliage pieces from the die set, including extended leaves, bubble effects, and spiral designs. ▶ watch 39:45
3. Arrange the foliage pieces on the embossed card base. ▶ watch 40:00
4. Add inky spludges or watercolour washes to the background using ink pads or paint. ▶ watch 40:15
5. Glue the foliage pieces onto the card using dry clear glue. ▶ watch 40:30
6. Optional: trim larger foliage pieces into smaller elements to create multiple design components. ▶ watch 40:45

Tips from the show

• The extended and elongated leaves can be trimmed to create two different designs from one cut piece.
• Foliage dies are versatile and work well with any colour scheme, not just florals.
• These dies are some of the hardest-working in your collection and will be used repeatedly.
