Hellebore Flower Card with Fern and Fog Background

Create a beautiful layered card featuring the new Hellebore flower design with curled petals, combined with the moody Fern and Fog patterned paper. This project showcases how to build dimension with die-cut flowers and coordinate them with complementary background papers.

Step by step

  1. Select a coordinating page from the Fern and Fog bumper paper pack that complements your chosen flower colour. ▶ watch 24:15
  2. Place the preprinted Hellebore flower paper onto the die plate, ensuring it aligns correctly; if needed, flip the paper over as it is double-sided. ▶ watch 27:00
  3. Run the paper and die through your cutting machine to cut out the flower petals and leaves. ▶ watch 27:30
  4. Pop out the cut flower pieces from the die plate. ▶ watch 29:15
  5. Curl the flower petals inward using your fingers or a bone folder to create dimension. ▶ watch 31:00
  6. Use a white ink pad to soften the edges and blend away any harsh lines on the petals. ▶ watch 33:15
  7. Glue the petals together to form the complete flower shape. ▶ watch 35:00
  8. Mount the Fern and Fog patterned paper onto a cream card blank. ▶ watch 36:45
  9. Adhere the layered flower to the centre of your card. ▶ watch 37:45
  10. Roll additional petals around a pen or quilling tool to create extra dimension and bulk out the flower centre. ▶ watch 40:15
  11. Add complementary leaves and foliage around the flower to complete the arrangement. ▶ watch 42:15
  12. Optional: add colourless glitter or sparkle media for a glass-like finish. ▶ watch 49:30
