Boat and Couple Sentiment Banner Card with Vignette

Design a romantic card featuring a boat with couple silhouette stamped in black with clear embossing for shine, paired with a custom banner sentiment. The vignette framing and banner tail detail create an elegant, finished look perfect for celebrations.

Step by step

1. Trim your inky blended panel down to size and position it on a white card base. ▶ watch 53:00
2. Stamp a sentiment (such as 'Simply the Best') onto white card stock using black ink. ▶ watch 53:45
3. Trim the sentiment into a rectangular shape. ▶ watch 54:00
4. Cut a piece of black card stock to create banner tails for the sentiment. ▶ watch 54:15
5. Layer the black banner tails behind the white sentiment piece using glue or tape. ▶ watch 54:30
6. Trim the banner tails to create pointed ends, mirroring the shape on both sides. ▶ watch 54:45
7. Adhere the banner sentiment to the centre of your card using tape or glue. ▶ watch 55:00
8. Add edge colouring around the card edges with black ink using a blending brush for definition. ▶ watch 55:30

Tips from the show

• Make sure your sentiment banner is smaller so it doesn't hide your focal image.
• Use tape rather than glue for embossed elements to ensure they stick securely.
• Cut banner tails freehand for a more organic look, or use a ruler for precision.
