Watercolour Gnome Character Card with Sparkle Embossing

Create a charming gnome character card using watercolour card and sparkly blue embossing powder. The gnome is stamped in black ink, then coloured with watercolours and embossed for a shimmering effect, mounted on a glitter card background with layered paper strips.

Step by step

  1. Stamp the gnome character onto watercolour card using black ink. ▶ watch 37:00
  2. Colour the gnome with watercolours, starting with lighter green at the bottom and darker green at the top to create dimension. ▶ watch 38:00
  3. Add red watercolour to the gnome's hat and white to the beard. ▶ watch 38:30
  4. Apply sparkly blue embossing powder over the stamped image and heat set it. ▶ watch 39:00
  5. Cut strips from the patterned paper in blue and pink tones. ▶ watch 40:00
  6. Layer the paper strips over glitter card to create a background. ▶ watch 40:30
  7. Trim the layered strips to size for your card base. ▶ watch 41:00
  8. Die cut the coloured gnome using the coordinating die. ▶ watch 41:30
  9. Mount the die-cut gnome onto the layered background using adhesive. ▶ watch 42:00
  10. Add a sentiment stamp to the bottom of the card. ▶ watch 42:30
