Step by step

  1. Use an anti-static bag to remove any dust or moisture from your rubber stamp before inking. ▶ watch 22:15
  2. Ink up the large dragonfly stamp thoroughly with a sticky embossing ink pad, stamping twice to ensure all detail is picked up. ▶ watch 23:00
  3. Pour the metallic embossing powder (Argent) generously over the wet stamped image, coating it completely. ▶ watch 23:45
  4. Tap off excess powder back into the pot, then heat set with a heat gun, ensuring the gun is hot before applying to the card. ▶ watch 24:15
  5. Once cooled, use the coordinating die to cut around the dragonfly image, creating a shaped card element. ▶ watch 25:30
  6. Ink up the heart stencil with pink ink on the stencil itself, adding touches of orange and teal to create a multi-coloured effect. ▶ watch 31:45
  7. Spray the inked stencil lightly with water to create a resist effect, then press onto your card background. ▶ watch 32:15
  8. Lift the stencil away and allow the background to dry completely before proceeding. ▶ watch 33:15
  9. Cut a rectangular panel from the stencilled background using a guillotine or craft knife. ▶ watch 34:00
  10. Mount the background panel onto sparkly card stock using new foam pads, positioning it centrally. ▶ watch 35:30
  11. Adhere the embossed dragonfly die-cut on top using foam pads to create dimension. ▶ watch 36:00
  12. Stamp a sentiment from the collection onto a contrasting cardstock strip, trim it neatly, and edge it with an ink pad. ▶ watch 39:15
  13. Use a watercolour brush with teal ink to add subtle colour washes to the flowers and wings of the dragonfly, allowing the embossing powder to resist the ink. ▶ watch 40:30
  14. Mount the sentiment strip onto the card using small foam pads, positioning it to balance the composition. ▶ watch 42:15
