Embossed Card with Theresa Collins Collection Paper

Create an elegant card using the Theresa Collins collaboration collection, featuring a beautiful 3D embossing folder with script detail. This project showcases how to combine patterned cardstock with embossing for a sophisticated finish.

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of white or coloured cardstock to your desired card size. ▶ watch 46:45
2. Place the cardstock into the 3D embossing folder, ensuring it is inserted the correct way, and run it through your embossing machine. ▶ watch 47:00
3. Open the embossed card and view the raised detail on the front and the debossed (recessed) detail on the back. ▶ watch 47:30
4. Optional: use a blending brush or ink pad to add colour to the debossed areas on the back of the card for subtle shading. ▶ watch 48:00
5. Cut a second piece of patterned cardstock from the collection and layer it onto a white or coloured card base using double-sided tape or adhesive. ▶ watch 48:30
6. Attach the embossed piece to the front of your card base, positioning it as your focal point. ▶ watch 49:00
7. Add a die-cut or stamped sentiment to complete the card, or leave white space for a clean, simple design. ▶ watch 49:30

Tips from the show

• You do not need to dampen your cardstock before embossing unless your machine tends to crack the paper.
• Debossing (the recessed side) can be just as beautiful as embossing and can be highlighted with subtle colour.
