Multicoloured Psychedelic Santa Card with Quattro D

A project from our live show Create and Craft TV - Join Toni for her brand new launch - broadcast 10th July 23 · 07/10/2023 · watch it from 29:00

Transform the Santa design using vibrant, unexpected colours through the Quattro D four-stage system. This project demonstrates how to create a modern, eye-catching Christmas card by layering different colours through stencils, adding skin and belt details, and finishing with gold embossing powder for a sparkly effect.

Step by step

  1. Apply the first layering stencil and pounce pink and yellow ink through it to create the base coat of Santa's coat in bright colours. ▶ watch 29:45
  2. Position the second stencil to add skin tone to Santa's face, hands and ears using olive or peachy ink. ▶ watch 31:00
  3. Add yellow ink through the belt area on the second stencil for a coordinated psychedelic look. ▶ watch 31:45
  4. Apply the third stencil to create the halo effect on the belt and add definition to the features. ▶ watch 32:30
  5. Apply the fourth stencil to add texture and shading to the beard and coat using grey ink. ▶ watch 33:00
  6. Stamp Santa's outline in black ink, lining it up carefully over all the stencilled layers. ▶ watch 34:00
  7. Tap the stamped image with an anti-static bag to remove any moisture before applying embossing powder. ▶ watch 35:00
  8. Sprinkle gold embossing powder over the black stamped outline, tapping off excess. ▶ watch 35:30
  9. Heat the embossing powder with a heat gun, moving steadily across the image until the powder melts and sets. ▶ watch 36:00
  10. Run the completed Santa through the 3D embossing folder to add final dimensional texture to the coat and beard. ▶ watch 37:00
