Create a striking background card featuring reflection tree stamps to build a layered forest effect with atmospheric depth. Using distress inking techniques, you'll create tone-on-tone stamping in soft pinks and greys to achieve a dreamy, artistic look. This project demonstrates how to layer stamps effectively to create dimension and visual interest on your handmade cards.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Select a black card base and place it on your craft mat. Position your ink pads and sample cards nearby for ea

    Select a black card base and place it on your craft mat. Position your ink pads and sample cards nearby for easy access.

  2. Stamp the reflection tree design onto your black card using your chosen ink colour. Press the stamp firmly and lift away carefully to reveal the image. ▶ watch 26:30
  3. Apply distress ink around the stamped trees using a blending tool to create depth and shadow. Work the ink gently around the edges of the tree images to add dimension to your background. ▶ watch 27:15
  4. Layer additional tree stamps at different heights on your card to build up a forest scene. Use the Eureka 101 stamping platform to position the stamps accurately. Stamp the trees in varying positions to create depth and interest. ▶ watch 28:00
  5. Add a sentiment from the stamp set to your card. Position the text stamp where desired and stamp onto the card panel to complete your design. ▶ watch 28:45
  6. Use a blending tool or sponge to gently blend and soften the edges of the inked areas on your card. Work in circular motions to create a smooth, cohesive transition between colours for a professional finish. ▶ watch 29:30
