Create an elegant card and coordinating envelope embellished with beautiful rub-on transfers. This project features delicate floral designs in soft pink tones, demonstrating how to apply rubons to achieve a sophisticated, professional finish on both card and envelope. The technique allows you to add intricate decorative elements without the need for stamping or die-cutting.

Step by step

1. 

   Select a card blank and matching envelope from the Create a Card Kit Magnolia. Choose your preferred design from the selection included in the kit.

   Select your desired rub-on transfers from the Magnolia kit's embellishment selection. Choose designs that complement your card theme.

3. Position your chosen rub-on transfer on the card or envelope where you want it to appear. The transfers can be placed on the floral images or other areas of your design. ▶ watch 46:00
4. Use a spatula or brush handle to carefully rub the transfer design onto your card surface. Apply gentle, even pressure to ensure the rub-on transfers completely from the backing sheet. ▶ watch 46:30
5. Carefully peel away the carrier sheet from the rubons to reveal the transferred design on your card. ▶ watch 47:00
6. Stamp a sentiment onto the card using the provided ink pad and stamps from the kit. Position the sentiment where desired on your card front. ▶ watch 48:00
7. Apply rub-on transfers to the envelope flap to coordinate with your card design. Position the transfers on the flap and burnish them thoroughly to ensure they adhere properly. ▶ watch 49:00
8. Layer embellishments such as die-cut flowers, butterflies or other decorative elements around your rub-on designs to add dimension and visual interest to your card. ▶ watch 50:00

Tips from the show

• Keep rub-on transfers on their carrier sheet until you're ready to use them, as the adhesive can dry out if exposed.
• Cut away elements from the rub-on sheet one at a time as you use them to keep the rest intact.
• Do not apply rub-ons on top of wet ink, as they will not adhere properly.
