3D Dimensional Card with Layered Embellishments

Create a stunning dimensional greeting card featuring beautiful floral imagery in soft pinks and greens. This project uses layered toppers, decorative tags, and 3D foam pads to build up multiple levels of depth and visual interest. The finished card combines die-cut elements, coordinating papers, and delicate embellishments for an elegant, professional result.

Step by step

1. Select a card blank from your Magnolia kit to use as your base. The card blank will form the foundation of your 3D dimensional card. ▶ watch 14:15
2. Select coordinating toppers and embellishments from the Magnolia kit. Choose floral designs and decorative elements that complement your card's colour scheme. ▶ watch 14:30
3. Apply 3D foam pads to the back of your chosen floral embellishments from the collection. Peel off the backing and position them ready for layering onto your card. ▶ watch 15:00
4. Layer the floral embellishments onto your card base, building up the dimensional effect. Position the larger flowers first, then add smaller blooms and foliage pieces on top to create depth. ▶ watch 15:30
5. Add a sentiment stamp or tag to personalise your card. Position it on the front of the card where desired, such as at the bottom corner or alongside your floral arrangement. ▶ watch 16:00
6. Layer additional floral embellishments on top of the base layer to create depth and dimension. Build up the layers gradually, positioning flowers and foliage to create visual interest. ▶ watch 17:00
7. Arrange your final embellishments on the card, ensuring good balance across the design. Position the layered floral elements and sentiment pieces until you're happy with the overall composition. ▶ watch 18:30

Tips from the show

• Be generous with yourself and don't feel like you need to use just one element per card—add multiple layers for stunning results.
• Don't be tight with your embellishments; the kit contains plenty so you can be creative and abundant in your design.
