Create an elegant framed artwork using embossing folders and gold mirror board to produce stunning dimensional effects. This project combines debossed and embossed techniques to create a beautiful decorative frame with a winter woodland scene featuring deer and foliage. The finished piece showcases rich metallic tones and intricate textures, perfect for displaying as a festive decoration or year-round statement piece.

Step by step

1. 

   Select a piece of gold mirror board from your collection. The gold mirror board has a classic metallic finish and comes as part of the embossing folder kit.

   Trim the mirror board down slightly to fit within your embossing folder. Check the size against your folder and adjust according to your die-cutting machine's plate system.

   Insert the mirror board into the embossing folder, ensuring it is positioned correctly between the two sides of the folder.

4. 

   Run the embossing folder with the mirror board through your die-cutting and embossing machine according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use the appropriate platform and shims for embossing.

5. 

   Carefully remove the embossed mirror board from the folder. The design should now be raised on the gold mirror board surface, showing the decorative frame pattern with botanical details.

   Observe the debossed and embossed effects created by the embossing folder on the gold mirror board surface. The design shows raised and recessed festive imagery including trees, berries, and decorative elements around the central aperture.

7. 

   Mount the embossed copper mirror board frame onto your card base. The decorative embossed border frames the winter scene image in the centre, creating a finished festive card.
