Vellum Layered Card with Torn Edges

Create an elegant card using vellum panels torn and layered to create depth and a halo effect. This technique showcases the transparency of vellum whilst adding visual interest through layering.

You will need

Step by step

  1. Take a piece of vellum from your pack and tear it into strips or panels of varying widths. ▶ watch 1:02:00
  2. Attach the torn vellum panels down the side of your card base using tape pen, which shows through less than other adhesives. ▶ watch 1:02:30
  3. Layer additional torn vellum pieces on top of the first layer, positioning them to create visual interest. ▶ watch 1:03:00
  4. Notice how the colour underneath becomes more intense where vellum layers overlap, creating depth. ▶ watch 1:03:30
  5. Add a sentiment or die-cut element to complete your card design. ▶ watch 1:04:00
