A project from our live show CATCH UP on Fridays Launch WOW LETS CREATE broadcast from the HTCN studio 15th Oct 21 · 10/15/2021
Create a stunning layered card using heat embossing with peacock stamps on both vellum and cardstock. The design features contrasting ink colours—a deep ocean blue on cardstock and a teal with gold on vellum—layered together to create a gorgeous dimensional effect with beautiful sparkle.
Heat your heat gun until it is ready to use.
Stamp the peacock design onto white cardstock using embossing ink.
Apply embossing powder to the stamped image, tapping off any excess.
Heat the powder with your heat gun, moving it constantly to avoid burning the card. Watch as the powder changes and seals.
Allow the embossed image to cool, then waft it under a Eureka machine or similar to flatten it.
Stamp the same peacock design onto vellum using a different coloured ink—choose one with gold tones such as teal and gold.
Heat emboss the vellum image in the same way as the cardstock, being careful not to overheat as vellum cooks quickly.
Layer the embossed vellum over the embossed cardstock, offsetting them slightly so both colours show through beautifully.
