Embossed Sparkly Lamination Flower Card

Create a striking card using heat embossing and sparkly embossing powders with the Simply Gorgeous lamination stamp set. Layer multiple embossed floral stamps in complementary colours to build dimension and create a glamorous, textured effect. This elegant design features beautiful blooms with a shimmering finish that catches the light.

Step by step

1. Cut your teal cardstock to the desired size and position it on your work surface where you want to place the stamped image. ▶ watch 33:30
2. Use an anti-static bag to dust the cardstock, removing any moisture or static before embossing. ▶ watch 35:00
3. Apply sticky embossing ink pad to the first part of the lamination stamp. ▶ watch 36:00
4. Stamp the inked stamp onto the cardstock, pressing firmly to ensure a clear impression. ▶ watch 36:15
5. Stamp the image a second time onto the same area to ensure all the detail is captured clearly and completely. ▶ watch 36:30
6. Sprinkle burnt orange and white sparkly embossing powder over the wet ink on your stamped image. ▶ watch 36:45
7. Tap off excess embossing powder onto a card blank or piece of card to catch it for reuse. ▶ watch 37:00
8. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun, moving quickly to avoid over-heating and buckling the card. ▶ watch 37:30
9. Position the second detail stamp part over the first layer, carefully aligning the eye and mouth sections to match the initial stamped image. ▶ watch 39:30
10. Apply sticky embossing ink to the second stamp and stamp onto the card. ▶ watch 40:30
11. Sprinkle purple and green sparkly embossing powder over the stamped layer, ensuring good coverage of the wet embossing ink. ▶ watch 41:30
12. Heat set this layer with the heat gun to ensure the embossing powder is fully melted and set. ▶ watch 42:30
13. Apply sticky embossing ink to the final detail stamp and position it carefully over the previous stamped layers on your card. ▶ watch 44:30
14. Sprinkle cream sparkle embossing powder generously over the stamped image on the final layer, ensuring complete coverage of the wet embossing ink. ▶ watch 45:30
15. Heat set the final layer with the heat gun until the powder fully melts and sets. ▶ watch 47:30

Tips from the show

• Use an anti-static bag before each embossing layer to prevent powder sticking where you don't want it.
• Heat set between layers to prevent colour contamination.
• Move the heat gun quickly over the card to avoid buckling; less time on the card means fewer lumps and bumps.
