Shaped Fairy Wing Card with Traditional Borders

Make a shaped card featuring a delicate fairy with cut-out wings using the traditional borders die. The card is scored and folded to create dimension, with layered elements and fussy-cut details from patterned paper creating a whimsical, three-dimensional effect.

Step by step

  1. Cut two pieces using the traditional borders die from white cardstock. ▶ watch 44:45
  2. Score the top edge of one of the cut pieces using a scoring tool. ▶ watch 45:00
  3. Fold along the scored line to create a crease. ▶ watch 45:15
  4. Adhere the folded piece to the back of the card base using tape or glue to create dimension. ▶ watch 45:30
  5. Layer the second cut piece on top using adhesive pads for additional height. ▶ watch 45:45
  6. Fussy cut a small fairy from your patterned paper. ▶ watch 46:00
  7. Fussy cut fairy wings from the patterned paper. ▶ watch 52:30
  8. Glue the fairy body to the card. ▶ watch 53:30
  9. Adhere the wings to the fairy. ▶ watch 54:00
  10. Add optional embellishments such as butterflies or preprinted words from the paper pad. ▶ watch 54:30
  11. Optional: add sparkle around the edges using a sparkle pen or glitter for extra shine. ▶ watch 56:00
