Gnome Character Card with Striped Paper Background

Build a festive gnome card by creating a layered striped background from patterned paper, adding a shaped card element, then mounting coloured gnome characters with a sentiment. The result is a playful, multi-layered card with lots of visual interest.

Step by step

1. Cut strips from the mystical Christmas patterned paper in alternating blue and pink tones. ▶ watch 43:00
2. Layer the paper strips over glitter card to create a striped background panel. ▶ watch 43:30
3. Trim the edges of the striped panel to fit your card size. ▶ watch 44:00
4. Mount the striped panel onto a craft card base using glue. ▶ watch 44:15
5. Stamp and colour multiple gnome characters from the stamp set. ▶ watch 44:45
6. Die cut the gnome characters using the coordinating dies. ▶ watch 45:15
7. Position the die-cut gnomes on the card, with one appearing to run in from the side. ▶ watch 46:00
8. Add a sentiment plaque or text to the bottom of the card. ▶ watch 46:30

Tips from the show

• You can use off-cuts and leftover paper strips to build interesting backgrounds.
• Positioning characters at different angles and heights creates movement and interest on the card.
