Floral Gift Card with Patterned Paper Background

Create a decorative gift card using patterned paper from the collection as both the card itself and as a coordinating background layer. This quick project transforms simple gift cards into shop-bought-looking presents with minimal effort.

Step by step

1. Select your preferred patterned paper from the collection (floral or animal print). ▶ watch 53:15
2. Tear or cut out a sheet of the paper. ▶ watch 53:30
3. Place the paper into your die-cutting machine with the gift card wallet die. ▶ watch 54:00
4. Run through the machine to cut the gift card shape with score lines. ▶ watch 54:15
5. Remove the die-cut wallet from the machine. ▶ watch 54:30
6. Fold along the pre-scored lines to create the wallet envelope. ▶ watch 55:00
7. Apply glue to the base and seal the envelope closed. ▶ watch 55:15
8. Optionally, wrap a coordinating belly band around the wallet or add a decorative embellishment to the front. ▶ watch 55:30
9. Insert your gift card or voucher into the half-moon pocket. ▶ watch 56:00

Tips from the show

• You can use the second sheet from the paper pack as a backing layer to coordinate the design.
• The patterned papers are 200 gsm, giving them a substantial, quality feel.
• You can stamp additional sentiments or designs onto the patterned paper before die-cutting for extra personalisation.
