Sweet Pea Border Card with Watercolour Accents

A card featuring delicate sweet pea flowers arranged as a decorative border with watercolour-style colouring. The non-directional stamp design allows flowers to face multiple directions for a natural, organic look.

Step by step

1. Stamp the sweet pea border design across the top of your card in black ink. ▶ watch 32:00
2. Prepare your watercolour inks or sprays in coordinating colours such as teals, pinks, and greens. ▶ watch 32:30
3. Apply the first colour to the sweet pea flowers using your chosen medium. ▶ watch 33:00
4. Add a second, darker shade of the same colour to create dimension and depth. ▶ watch 33:30
5. Spray the design with water or pearly winks mist to blend the colours together. ▶ watch 34:00
6. Add green foliage colours to complement the flower colours. ▶ watch 34:30
7. Allow the design to dry completely before adding any additional elements or sentiments. ▶ watch 35:00

Tips from the show

• Sweet peas are non-directional, so they work beautifully facing multiple directions without looking odd.
• You can use these stamps as a page edge for journals or as a border on scrapbook layouts.
• The large, delicate design works well on watercolour card stock for enhanced blending.
