Layered Heart Die-Cut Card with Embellishments

Cut multiple layers of the mixed up heart die in different colours and stack them to create depth and dimension. Add hand-drawn details and white gel pen highlights to make a striking card suitable for any occasion.

Step by step

1. Cut the mixed up heart die from coloured cardstock using your die-cutting machine, running through once for standard weight paper. ▶ watch 13:00
2. Cut additional heart shapes from different coloured cardstock to create multiple layers. ▶ watch 13:30
3. Stack and glue the cut hearts together, layering them to create dimension. ▶ watch 14:00
4. Use a black pen to draw decorative details around the edges of the layered heart, such as small circles or connecting lines. ▶ watch 14:30
5. Add white gel pen highlights around the edges and details of the heart to make it pop against the darker background. ▶ watch 15:00
6. Glue the finished heart onto your card base. ▶ watch 15:30
7. Add any additional embellishments such as buttons or gems if desired. ▶ watch 16:00
8. Add a sentiment or message to complete the card. ▶ watch 16:30

Tips from the show

• You can paper piece the heart or add ink to different sections for extra colour variation.
• The die works beautifully with drop shadows for added depth.
• This design works well for multiple occasions including male, female, or general cards.
