Embossed Black Card with Dry Brush Highlight

Create a striking card by embossing black card stock with the Greenery embossing folder, then dry brushing white acrylic paint over the top to highlight the raised details. This technique produces a dramatic, dimensional effect.

Step by step

1. Run black card stock through the embossing machine with the Greenery embossing folder to create a raised embossed pattern. ▶ watch 19:15
2. Load a brush with white acrylic paint or multi-purpose paint, removing most of the paint so the brush is nearly dry. ▶ watch 19:45
3. Gently dry brush the white paint over the embossed surface to highlight the raised leaf and feather details. ▶ watch 20:00
4. Examine both sides of the card to see how the emboss looks from different angles. ▶ watch 20:15

Tips from the show

• You can use your finger instead of a brush to apply the dry brush effect
• The emboss shows beautifully on both sides of the card
