Embossed Tree with Coloured and Monochromatic Sections

Stamp a tree design with a watermark effect, then emboss it with coloured sparkle powder on top and monochromatic tones on the bottom. The result is a sophisticated card with depth and visual contrast.

Step by step

1. Apply sticky ink pad to your card, then use an anti-static bag to prepare the surface. ▶ watch 31:45
2. Stamp the tree design onto the card to create a watermark effect. ▶ watch 32:00
3. Stamp the tree a second time to ensure you've captured all the detail. ▶ watch 32:15
4. Apply clear embossing powder and heat set it to seal the design. ▶ watch 32:45
5. Apply coloured sparkle ink (such as rose gold) to the embossed tree and heat set again. ▶ watch 33:00
6. Run the card through an HD 3D embossing folder to add texture and dimension. ▶ watch 33:30
7. Trim the card to your desired size, keeping the embossed design as your focal point. ▶ watch 34:00
8. Mount the finished piece onto a card blank using adhesive. ▶ watch 34:30

Tips from the show

• Use less heat when embossing watercolour card to avoid warping.
• The embossing folder adds beautiful texture that complements the stamped design.
• Coloured sparkle powders create a subtle shimmer that catches the light beautifully.
