Dimensional Background Stencil Layered Card

A card using dimensional background stencils to add soft or impactful background detail. The stencils can be used with various ink colours and layered with other collections to fill white space and add visual interest.

Step by step

1. Position your chosen dimensional background stencil (such as fallen leaves or star cluster) on your card base. ▶ watch 26:30
2. Choose your ink colour and apply it through the stencil opening using a sponge or ink pad. ▶ watch 26:45
3. Remove the stencil carefully to reveal the stencilled background design. ▶ watch 27:00
4. Layer papers from your chosen collection (such as Midnight Blooms or Spring Morning) over the stencilled background. ▶ watch 27:15
5. Add stamped and die-cut elements from your coordinating collection on top of the layered design. ▶ watch 27:30
6. Use the stencil softly or boldly depending on your preference for background impact. ▶ watch 27:45

Tips from the show

• You choose the ink colour and intensity to make the stencil impactful or soft.
• The stencils work well with all the other collections in the range.
• If you don't like white space, you can quickly fill it with these stencils.
