Sweet Pea Embossed Card with Coloured Mount

A square card featuring the Sweet Pea embossing folder design with a chamfered frame. You layer a coloured artistic mount inside the embossed window to create a framed artwork effect, then add sentiment text and optional foliage embellishments for dimension.

You will need

Step by step

1. Insert white cardstock into the embossing folder, positioning it centrally. ▶ watch 10:45
2. Run the embossing folder through your die-cutting machine using appropriate plates for your machine type. ▶ watch 11:00
3. Remove the embossed card and pull out the centre detail to reveal the embossed frame. ▶ watch 12:30
4. Select one of the artistic mount pieces and trim the edges so it fits within the embossed window frame. ▶ watch 13:15
5. Adhere the coloured mount into the window using tape or glue. ▶ watch 18:30
6. Add your chosen sentiment text, positioning it on the card front. ▶ watch 19:00
7. Optionally add foliage or other embellishments from your stash to build up the design and create dimension. ▶ watch 19:15

Tips from the show

• You can twist the embossed design once it's cut to change the orientation of the pattern.
• If you don't use the die element, you get the beautiful chamfered frame which works as a traditional 3D embossing folder.
• Keep the design simple to let the embossed detail and coloured mount be the focal point.
