Envelope and Heart Layered Card

A delicate layered card featuring embossed heart die-cuts and stamped envelope elements. The design creates depth through layering different paper tones and building a small floral bouquet within the heart shape.

Step by step

1. Stick the patterned paper from the collection onto your card base as a backing. ▶ watch 25:30
2. Run a heart die-cut through the embossing folder to create texture on the surface. ▶ watch 25:45
3. Stamp the envelope design twice on contrasting cardstock and cut away the flap from one to create an open envelope effect. ▶ watch 26:00
4. Glue the closed envelope behind the open envelope to create dimension and show interior and exterior tones. ▶ watch 26:15
5. Position the layered envelopes inside the embossed heart. ▶ watch 26:30
6. Stamp and fussy-cut floral elements from the collection papers in various colours. ▶ watch 28:00
7. Build a small bouquet by layering the flowers and foliage elements into the heart. ▶ watch 28:15
8. Stamp the 'little card big thanks' sentiment at the base of the design. ▶ watch 29:00
9. Add additional coloured leaf elements to complete the arrangement. ▶ watch 29:15

Tips from the show

• You don't need big fancy glittery cards; simple layered elements from the magazine create beautiful impact.
• Don't fear cutting into stamped elements and using them as toppers.
