Step by step

Select a pre-printed paper from the collection featuring an atmospheric background scene. ▶ watch 14:00
Position the inner moon stencil aperture near the top of your paper. ▶ watch 14:15
Apply white ink using a blending brush around the moon aperture to create a subtle halo effect. ▶ watch 14:30
Swap to the exterior stencil and position it over the moon area, concentrating the white ink in the centre and blending outwards. ▶ watch 15:00
Blend the white ink outwards to soften the moon area and create a gentle glow. ▶ watch 15:30
Stamp the reflection figures in black ink near the base of the card where the water or ground is shown. ▶ watch 15:45
Take a white gel pen and add highlights to the tops of the figures and any raised elements to suggest moonlight reflection. ▶ watch 16:30
Mount the decorated paper onto a card base in black or white. ▶ watch 17:15

Tips from the show

The paper is uncoated, which means you can emboss, heat emboss, stamp, paint or gesso it for additional creative options.
White gel pen dries back slightly lighter than it appears when applied, so don't worry if it looks harsh initially.
You can repeat the figures design or position them off to the edge for varied compositions.
