Vellum and Die-Cut Leaf Card with Ribbon Bow

An elegant A2 top-folding card featuring gold sparkle vellum layered to create a textured, multi-layered appearance. The card is embellished with a decorative die-cut leaf design and finished with a soft green-tinted translucent ribbon bow tied at the top.

Step by step

1. Take an A2 top-folding card base and cut your gold sparkle vellum to the same size as the card. ▶ watch 2:30
2. Position the vellum so it extends over the front of the card and wraps to the back, creating a continuous layered effect. ▶ watch 2:45
3. Burnish the vellum gently to secure it, then add double-sided tape underneath to hold it in place on both the front and back. ▶ watch 3:00
4. Die-cut the maple leaf design from gold sparkle cardstock using your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 3:30
5. Cut a length of translucent green-tinted ribbon and tie it in a bow around the top of the card. ▶ watch 4:00
6. Adjust the bow so it sits to one side, then trim the ribbon tails to your desired length. ▶ watch 4:45
7. Secure the bow with a small piece of double-sided tape underneath one of the ribbon arms to prevent it from slipping. ▶ watch 5:30
8. Attach the die-cut leaf piece to the card, leaving some of the centre elements in place or popping them out as desired. ▶ watch 6:00
9. Add a sentiment stamp such as 'Celebrate You' in the centre of the card to complete the design. ▶ watch 6:45

Tips from the show

• Extending the vellum to the back of the card creates a professional, layered look without adding bulk for posting.
• The vellum is high-grade and scores beautifully, allowing you to heat emboss or use various cardmaking techniques on it.
• You can choose to pop out the centre elements of the die-cut or leave them in for different design effects.
