A project from our live show Stamps By Me - Celebration Box - Cotton Pines Class 3 · 09/29/2023 · watch it from 0:00

Create a festive Christmas card featuring a pre-printed cabin mount embellished with fussy-cut patterned paper, colourless glitter for a snowy glass effect, and a coordinating sentiment. The layered design creates depth with a decorative frame around the cabin scene.

Step by step

  1. Select a pre-printed mount from your celebration box and trim a small amount from the top and bottom edges. ▶ watch 0:45
  2. Cut a sheet of patterned paper from your kit, then fussy-cut around the detailed design loosely, keeping curves rather than points for a softer appearance. ▶ watch 1:00
  3. Adhere the fussy-cut patterned paper onto your white card base using glue blocks, positioning it to frame the cabin mount. ▶ watch 2:45
  4. Apply clear-drying glue to the roof of the cabin, then add colourless glitter to create a snowy effect. ▶ watch 4:30
  5. Add glitter to the base of the cabin, around the windows, tree tops, log burner, and steps to simulate snow coverage. ▶ watch 5:00
  6. Apply colourless glitter to the greenery on the card, avoiding the flowers to prevent the design becoming too sparkly. ▶ watch 6:30
  7. Stamp an 'Always Grateful' sentiment onto coordinating scrap card stock in a matching colour tone. ▶ watch 7:15
  8. Cut out the stamped sentiment and mat it onto a small piece of green card to coordinate with your design. ▶ watch 8:00
  9. Edge the matted sentiment with a vintage-coloured ink pad to enhance the detail and tie in with the cabin theme. ▶ watch 8:45
  10. Create a backing pad by layering scraps of card stock together and securing with tape to build thickness. ▶ watch 10:00
  11. Trim the backing pad to fit your card, then adhere it to the reverse of your sentiment using glue or tape. ▶ watch 11:00
  12. Position the matted and padded sentiment on your card, ensuring it balances the design without covering the cabin. ▶ watch 11:30
