Ombre Lamination Gown Card

Create a sophisticated ombre-effect gown card by layering two ink colours on the solid portion and blending them together, then adding the detailed stamp on top. This produces a gradient effect that flows beautifully down the dress.

Step by step

1. Ink the bottom section of the solid portion stamp with your first colour (e.g. teal). ▶ watch 31:45
2. Ink the top section of the solid portion stamp with your second colour (e.g. pink). ▶ watch 32:00
3. Use a blending brush to blend the two colours together in the middle, creating a smooth transition. ▶ watch 32:15
4. Stamp the blended colour onto your card stock. ▶ watch 32:30
5. Spray the inked area with water once or twice to soften the effect. ▶ watch 32:45
6. Dry the card completely with a heat tool. ▶ watch 33:00
7. Line up and stamp the detailed portion on top using black or contrasting ink. ▶ watch 33:30
8. Stamp multiple times if needed to build definition in the design details. ▶ watch 34:00

Tips from the show

• Blend the colours in the middle to avoid a harsh line between the two shades.
• You can pull colour up the sides to create more variation in the ombre effect.
• Stamping the detailed portion multiple times builds up the depth and makes the design more visible.
