Bubble and Fizz Illusion Card with Stamped Design

Create an optical illusion card using the Bubble and Fizz die with a stamped camera design. The die-cut bubbles frame the stamped image, making it appear as though the design is captured within the bubbles, creating an instant focal point.

Step by step

1. Stamp a camera design in black ink onto two pieces of card that are exactly the same size. ▶ watch 36:00
2. Run the Bubble and Fizz die through your cutting machine over the stamped camera design on one piece of card. ▶ watch 37:00
3. Cut the Bubble and Fizz die three times in white card and layer them together to create a thick embellishment. ▶ watch 38:45
4. Glue the layered white Bubble and Fizz embellishment onto a pink card blank. ▶ watch 39:30
5. Take the die-cut piece with the camera design and carefully line it up so the camera image shows through the bubble shapes. ▶ watch 40:15
6. Glue the camera die-cut piece on top of the white embellishment, matching the design alignment. ▶ watch 41:00
7. Add washi tape down the side of the card for additional interest. ▶ watch 41:45
8. Tilt the card to the side to reveal the illusion effect where the bubbles frame the camera design. ▶ watch 42:00

Tips from the show

• Colouring the stamped design before die-cutting will enhance the illusion effect.
• This technique works with any stamped image you have in your stash, not just the camera design.
• The bubbles create an instant focal point without needing additional embellishments.
