Simple Layered Birthday Card with Topper and Flowers

A quick and easy card using pre-printed card blanks, coordinating toppers, and die-cut flower elements from the Create a Card kit. The finished card features layered elements with foam pads for dimension and a coordinating envelope decorated with a rub-on.

Step by step

1. Select a pre-printed card blank from the kit in your chosen colour and design. ▶ watch 15:00
2. Choose a coordinating topper element from the kit. ▶ watch 15:15
3. Apply foam pads to the back of the topper to create dimension. ▶ watch 15:30
4. Adhere the padded topper to the card blank, positioning it centrally. ▶ watch 15:45
5. Select flower embellishments from the kit's ephemera. ▶ watch 16:00
6. Apply foam pads to the back of the flower elements. ▶ watch 16:15
7. Position and stick the padded flowers onto the card to create visual interest. ▶ watch 16:30
8. Take a tag from the kit and stamp a sentiment onto it using the provided ink pad. ▶ watch 16:45
9. Trim the stamped tag if desired and tuck it behind or into the flower arrangement. ▶ watch 17:00
10. Take an envelope from the kit and peel a rub-on from its carrier sheet. ▶ watch 17:15
11. Position the rub-on on the envelope and burnish it with a tool or coin to transfer the design. ▶ watch 17:30
12. Place the finished card into the coordinating envelope. ▶ watch 17:45

Tips from the show

• You do not need scissors or glue; the kit contains everything needed to create beautiful cards.
• Don't be tight with foam pads; use enough to create proper dimension.
• You can cut ephemera elements in half to stretch your supplies and create different design variations.
