Artistic Watercolour Hibiscus Card with Stencil Layering and Spray Technique

Create a soft, artistic hibiscus card using the Quattro D stencil system with watercolour paper. Layer six stencils with different ink colours, then spray with water to create a beautiful blended, hand-painted effect with organic colour bleeding.

Step by step

  1. Take two pieces of Carta watercolour paper in A5 size as your base. ▶ watch 29:15
  2. Line up stencil number one with the edge of your card stock using the heart registration system in the corner. ▶ watch 30:15
  3. Tap Fandango ink onto a spot brush and apply colour through stencil one, working lightly to start. ▶ watch 30:30
  4. Flip the second card over to use the textured side of the Carta paper for a different finish. ▶ watch 31:00
  5. Apply the same Fandango colour to stencil one on the textured side. ▶ watch 31:15
  6. Spray the first card with water using a spray bottle to create colour bleeding and a soft, artistic effect. ▶ watch 32:00
  7. Remove stencil one and line up stencil two, applying orange ink with your brush. ▶ watch 32:45
  8. Spray the second card lightly with water in selected areas to create controlled colour bleed. ▶ watch 33:00
  9. Continue with stencils three through six, layering green, teal, and blue inks in sequence, spraying between some layers for artistic effect. ▶ watch 33:45
  10. Dry your completed stencilled and sprayed card with a heat gun before moving to the next stage. ▶ watch 42:00
