Step by step

  1. Gather a white card blank and your five stencils from the Dreamy Blooms set, arranged in order. ▶ watch 17:00
  2. Apply stencil number one using a light grey ink pad and blending brush, creating splat details around the edges of your card. ▶ watch 17:45
  3. Press stencil number two onto the card with slightly more pressure to create a watermark effect in the same grey tone. ▶ watch 20:00
  4. Stamp the large flower outline onto the card using a grey ink pad, then spray lightly with water to create a bleed effect. ▶ watch 21:30
  5. Stamp over the same flower outline again using black ink to create an abstracted, resist-style look with the grey showing through. ▶ watch 28:30
  6. Die-cut the foliage and flower elements from the set using your die-cutting machine with black card stock. ▶ watch 35:00
  7. Create a small card base by scoring white card in half and layering with a small piece of black card for contrast. ▶ watch 41:00
  8. Paint or ink the skeleton leaves and foliage pieces with white ink or paint to make them stand out against the black card. ▶ watch 44:00
  9. Stamp a small sentiment such as 'Birthday Wishes' onto white card stock using black ink. ▶ watch 48:00
  10. Cut the sentiment into a banner shape with a fishtail or pointed tail at one end. ▶ watch 50:00
  11. Adhere the white-painted foliage pieces to the black card base using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 51:00
  12. Attach the sentiment banner flat across the card, positioning it to complement the foliage arrangement. ▶ watch 53:00
