Simple Vellum and Topper Card

A quick and elegant card using patterned vellum as an overlay on a white card base, topped with a decorative girl topper and a sentiment. This creates an ethereal, layered look with minimal effort.

Step by step

1. Trim your card base to size using a trimmer. ▶ watch 34:00
2. Distress the edges of your card base slightly with scissors for a vintage texture. ▶ watch 34:45
3. Tear a piece of patterned vellum to size. ▶ watch 35:30
4. Adhere the vellum to one side of the card base using a tape pen. ▶ watch 35:45
5. Stamp a sentiment onto the card using black ink, positioning it along the edge or corner. ▶ watch 36:00
6. Adhere a decorative topper (such as a girl image) to the card using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 36:30
7. Layer additional vellum pieces if desired for extra visual interest. ▶ watch 37:00

Tips from the show

• You can keep the card totally flat if you prefer, without foam pads.
• Don't be afraid to position sentiments at angles rather than straight for a quirky look.
• Vellum shows transparency beautifully, so layer it over different coloured cardstock to change the effect.
