3D Folded Snowflake Dimensional Embellishment

A striking 3D snowflake embellishment created by folding and layering multiple die-cut snowflakes. This technique creates a dimensional, geometric snowflake that can be used as a card embellishment or tree decoration.

You will need

Step by step

1. Cut the snowflake die from cardstock three or more times. ▶ watch 31:30
2. Fold each snowflake die-cut in half along the symmetrical line. ▶ watch 31:45
3. Score the fold with a bone folder or your hand to create a crisp crease. ▶ watch 32:00
4. Apply glue to one side of the first folded snowflake. ▶ watch 32:15
5. Attach the second folded snowflake to the glued side of the first. ▶ watch 32:30
6. Apply glue to the other side and attach the third folded snowflake. ▶ watch 32:45
7. Press all pieces together firmly to ensure they adhere properly. ▶ watch 33:00
8. Take the matten layer piece from the die set and glue it to the back of the 3D snowflake. ▶ watch 33:30
9. Adhere the completed 3D snowflake embellishment onto your card base. ▶ watch 34:00
10. Alternatively, create multiple 3D snowflakes and layer them for extra dimension, or add string to use as a tree ornament. ▶ watch 34:30

Tips from the show

• The more die-cuts you use, the more dimensional your final design will be.
• This technique works with any symmetrical design, such as the star or sunshine flower.
• The 3D snowflake will fold flat into the card for posting, making it practical for cards.
