Coloured Typewriter with Floral Embellishments Card

A beautiful card featuring a heat embossed and hand-coloured typewriter as the focal point, mounted over a textured blue and teal background. Decorative yellow flowers are layered on top to create dimension and draw the eye to the typewriter design.

Step by step

1. Take your textured background card with the blue and teal ombre effect and mount it onto white cardstock. ▶ watch 17:00
2. Heat emboss the typewriter stamp in gold onto white cardstock ahead of time. ▶ watch 18:00
3. Colour the heat embossed typewriter using Gossip alcohol markers in colours R16 and R1. ▶ watch 27:15
4. Cut out the coloured typewriter carefully and mount it onto the textured background card. ▶ watch 19:00
5. Prepare flower stamps or dies and stamp or cut out several flower shapes in yellow tones. ▶ watch 19:15
6. Arrange the flowers around the top of the typewriter, building your composition as you go. ▶ watch 20:00
7. Apply foam pads to some flowers for dimension and glue others flat for variation. ▶ watch 20:45
8. Stamp a sentiment onto a small tab or strip of cardstock in black ink. ▶ watch 21:00
9. Position the sentiment tab amongst the flowers and secure with glue or foam pads. ▶ watch 21:30

Tips from the show

• Use alcohol markers to colour your heat embossed images for vibrant, blendable colour.
• Mix foam pads and flat gluing for flowers to create visual interest and dimension.
• Don't be afraid to use colour in your designs.
