Step by step

  1. Take a piece of white cardstock as your base. ▶ watch 0:45
  2. Using a blending brush, apply purple ink to the centre of the card in a light, circular motion to create a halo effect. ▶ watch 0:45
  3. Build up the colour gradually, working from the centre outwards and extending towards the top of the card. ▶ watch 1:00
  4. Ink up the smaller butterfly chain stamp completely. ▶ watch 1:45
  5. Position the stamp so it sits half on the card and half off the edge, then press down firmly to create the design on the corner. ▶ watch 2:00
  6. Re-ink the stamp and repeat the half on, half off technique down the other side of the card, catching more of the design this time. ▶ watch 2:15
  7. Ink up the large sentiment stamp in black ink. ▶ watch 2:45
  8. Stamp the sentiment straight into the centre of the card. ▶ watch 3:00
  9. Using a clean brush with water, add water splats across the design to create a bleaching effect that lifts colour from the cardstock. ▶ watch 3:15
  10. Dry the card quickly with a heat gun, removing any excess water as you go. ▶ watch 3:45
  11. Add sparkle or shimmer to the butterfly wings and floral elements so they catch the light. ▶ watch 4:00
  12. Layer the finished design onto a matching aubergine-toned cardstock base and adhere it to complete the card. ▶ watch 4:30
