A project from our live show CATCH UP with PEARLYWINKS CREATIVE STENCILS LAUNCH in the HTCN studio broadcast 21st Jan 22 · 01/21/2022
Donna creates a layered, artistic background by spraying ink onto card, letting it dry, then adding random texture stamping with fingers for a messy, creative mixed-media effect. This technique celebrates imperfection and builds depth through layering.
Spray your card with the Hint of Gold spray, creating an even golden-brown base layer.
Allow the sprayed card to dry completely before proceeding.
Ink up a small texture stamp from the Mix It Up set using a black ink pad.
Press the inked stamp directly onto your fingers rather than using a block for a random, imprecise effect.
Dab the stamp randomly across the card, allowing impressions to overlap and build up texture.
Catch excess ink on a separate sheet of paper to create additional background pieces for future projects.
Continue layering stamps until you achieve the desired level of texture and visual interest.
Once dry, use this textured background as the base for mounting focal point elements.
Share your make with the Stamps By Me community - and keep this guide for next time.
