Step by step

  1. Cut a circle from card stock using a nesting die to create your moon shape. ▶ watch 21:45
  2. Apply blue ink to the card stock in the area where your moon aperture will sit, creating a halo effect around the circle. ▶ watch 26:15
  3. Add black ink to the outer edges and work inward to create shadow and depth on the moon. ▶ watch 28:00
  4. Activate the ink with water using a brush, then use tissue to pull out colour and create texture. ▶ watch 30:00
  5. Add white paint splats to the moon using a brush, varying the distance from the paper to control dot size. ▶ watch 30:45
  6. Add gold splats to the moon for additional shimmer and texture. ▶ watch 31:45
  7. Stamp the pixie characters in black ink onto the moon, holding the stamp in place without moving it. ▶ watch 33:00
  8. Stamp white embossing ink over the black-stamped figures to create a two-tone effect. ▶ watch 36:30
  9. Heat set the white embossing ink using a heat tool. ▶ watch 40:30
  10. Adhere the moon aperture piece to your card base using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 45:00
