A project from our live show Join Toni for ANYTHING GOES WEDNESDAY - Broadcast 9th March 22 · 03/09/2022
A small card featuring a watercoloured moon aperture with stamped pixie characters. The design uses layered card stock with a coloured moon effect created through ink blending and water techniques, topped with black-stamped figures and white embossing ink details for contrast.
Cut a circle from card stock using a nesting die to create your moon shape.
Apply blue ink to the card stock in the area where your moon aperture will sit, creating a halo effect around the circle.
Add black ink to the outer edges and work inward to create shadow and depth on the moon.
Activate the ink with water using a brush, then use tissue to pull out colour and create texture.
Add white paint splats to the moon using a brush, varying the distance from the paper to control dot size.
Add gold splats to the moon for additional shimmer and texture.
Stamp the pixie characters in black ink onto the moon, holding the stamp in place without moving it.
Stamp white embossing ink over the black-stamped figures to create a two-tone effect.
Heat set the white embossing ink using a heat tool.
Adhere the moon aperture piece to your card base using foam pads for dimension.
Add a washi tape sentiment or text to complete the card design.
Decorate a coordinating envelope using the same stamp set in black ink.
