Create a vibrant layered card using a large background stamp as a template. Cut sections from coloured paper to build up a scenic landscape, then layer it onto a card blank shaped with a nesting die to create a coordinating card front.

Step by step

Stamp the large background scene stamp (hills and trees) onto blue paper using black ink. ▶ watch 15:15
Use the stamped image as a template to cut out different coloured paper sections for each landscape layer. ▶ watch 16:30
Glue the coloured paper pieces onto your base card, layering them to build up the scene with hills in different shades. ▶ watch 17:30
Add cloud shapes on top of the landscape, keeping them flat rather than dimensional. ▶ watch 18:45
Fold a piece of black card in half and position a nesting die so it overlaps the fold line, then die-cut to create a coordinating card blank. ▶ watch 22:00
Die-cut a plain black card with the same nesting die to create a template for the card front. ▶ watch 23:00
Glue the scenic panel onto the card front, positioning it within the nesting die shape. ▶ watch 24:15
Die-cut an arch shape from the nesting die and glue it to the top of the card to create a sentiment area. ▶ watch 25:00
Stamp a sentiment onto white card and glue it into the arch area. ▶ watch 27:30
Attach pig stamps to foam pads and position them on the card, with one pig appearing to walk off the edge. ▶ watch 28:15

Tips from the show

You can use scrap papers and patterned papers for the layered sections to create quirky effects.
Overlapping the nesting die over the card fold creates conjoined shapes rather than two separate pieces.
You can make the clouds three-dimensional by using foam pads if you prefer.
