Stencil and Mask Wolf Card with Ink Blending

Create a layered card featuring a wolf silhouette with ink-blended trees in the background using stencil and mask techniques. The design uses shadow effects to create depth and perspective, with coordinating sentiment stamps and envelope.

Step by step

  1. Place the stencil onto your card blank and tap through with an ink pad to create the tree design in the background. ▶ watch 36:45
  2. Position the mask on top of the stencil to protect the wolf area, then blend ink around the edges using a blending brush to create a shadow effect. ▶ watch 41:30
  3. Remove the mask and add a halo shadow around the wolf silhouette using black ink to define and tie the design together. ▶ watch 43:00
  4. Trim the inked panel down to a smaller size and edge it with black ink to remove the white border and make it stand out. ▶ watch 46:30
  5. Mount the trimmed panel onto a craft-coloured card base using adhesive. ▶ watch 48:00
  6. Stamp sentiment text from the stamp set onto separate craft-coloured strips using black ink. ▶ watch 53:30
  7. Trim the sentiment strips and adhere one flat to the card front and one inside the card for a coordinated look. ▶ watch 54:45
  8. Add semi-prints to the envelope using the same ink and stencil to coordinate the finished card set. ▶ watch 58:00
