Decorative Matted Pocket for Box Interior

Add a decorative matted pocket to the interior of your box using layered cardstock. This creates an elegant frame effect and provides a perfect spot for storing small items or embellishments.

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 4.5 inches by 4.5 inches (approximately 11.5cm by 11.5cm). ▶ watch 1:20:30
2. Cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 4.25 inches by 4.25 inches (approximately 10.8cm by 10.8cm). ▶ watch 1:21:00
3. Layer the patterned paper on top of the white cardstock, keeping it flush at the top to create a visible white border on three sides. ▶ watch 1:21:30
4. Use a corner punch to round all four corners of both layers together for a coordinated finish. ▶ watch 1:22:00
5. Glue the layered pocket to the interior of your box, positioning it flush at the top and down the left side. ▶ watch 1:22:30
6. Create a second matted pocket using the same method if desired for additional storage options. ▶ watch 1:23:00

Tips from the show

• Keep the white layer flush at the top for a professional matted appearance
