Layered Decoupage Sentiment Card with Fussy-Cut Elements

A white top-folding note card decorated with three fussy-cut paper elements from the Funky Fossil collection, layered with foam pads to create dimension and a skirt effect. The card features a large stamped sentiment in purple ink with a teal spray accent.

Step by step

1. Ink up the large A5 sentiment stamp with purple ink pad. ▶ watch 23:00
2. Stamp the sentiment onto the white card blank. ▶ watch 25:00
3. Apply teal spray ink lightly over the stamped sentiment for accent. ▶ watch 26:30
4. Fussy cut around the base of the first decorative paper element, keeping some of the navy background if desired. ▶ watch 29:00
5. Fussy cut the second paper element, cutting further into the design where the flower pattern changes. ▶ watch 30:15
6. Fussy cut the third paper element, cutting up to approximately the middle of the design. ▶ watch 30:45
7. Create foam pads by stacking pre-cut card offcuts together. ▶ watch 31:45
8. Adhere the first fussy-cut element flat to the top of the card. ▶ watch 32:30
9. Attach the second element with foam pads, leaving the bottom edge free to create a skirt effect. ▶ watch 32:45
10. Layer the third element on top with foam pads, positioning it to add further dimension. ▶ watch 34:30

Tips from the show

• You can include some of the navy background when fussy cutting if you like the colour.
• Leaving the bottom edges of layered elements free creates a lovely skirt effect.
• Use offcuts from your scrap box to create foam pads if you don't have commercial ones available.
