Tassel Embellishment Card

Create an elegant card featuring handmade tassels and rolled flowers. This project uses die-cut tassel elements wrapped around a tool to form decorative 3D embellishments that add texture and sophistication to a simple card design.

Step by step

1. Die-cut the tassel fringe pieces from cardstock using the tassel die set. ▶ watch 17:30
2. Wrap the die-cut tassel strip around a pokey tool or paintbrush handle. ▶ watch 17:45
3. Apply a spot of glue to secure the wrapped tassel, then pull out the tool to reveal the formed tassel. ▶ watch 18:00
4. Cut a piece of patterned paper from the collection and adhere it to your card base. ▶ watch 18:15
5. Glue the formed tassels to the card, positioning them at varying heights for texture. ▶ watch 19:00
6. Add a sentiment tag or label to the card front. ▶ watch 19:30
7. Trim any excess tassel legs with scissors for a neat finish. ▶ watch 20:00
8. Layer additional embellishments such as twine or string through the tassel loops if desired. ▶ watch 20:30

Tips from the show

• You can batch-cut multiple tassels at once and assemble them whilst watching television for a therapeutic, repetitive activity.
• Make multiple tassels in different sizes by wrapping around different sized tools for varied visual interest.
