Step by step

1. Take a piece of white card stock and stamp the abstract background stamp using a light grey ink pad, positioning it to add subtle detail without overwhelming the design. ▶ watch 49:45
2. Select coordinating papers from the collection and cut out three matching flower designs in different sizes, with the largest being the full flower and progressively smaller versions with petals removed. ▶ watch 50:30
3. Layer the three flower pieces on top of each other, starting with the largest at the base, to create dimension and a cascading effect. ▶ watch 51:45
4. Gently manipulate the layered flower by pinching the petals and lifting the corners to add natural shaping and movement to the blooms. ▶ watch 52:00
5. Stamp one of the coordinating sentiment words onto the card using the flowy font die or stamp, positioning it at the bottom of the design. ▶ watch 54:00
6. Adhere the layered flower to the card using foam pads or adhesive, positioning it as your focal point. ▶ watch 54:30

Tips from the show

• You can add ink blending to the flower layers to give them texture and depth before assembling them.
• The papers are so good quality that simply adding heat and manipulating them will create natural rotation and movement in the petals.
• Don't worry about making it perfect—the artistic element comes from your own unique style and colour choices.
