Paris Skyline Scene Card with Masked Figure

A sophisticated scene card featuring a French madame silhouette layered over the iconic Paris skyline with Eiffel Tower and landmarks. The masking technique allows you to build a complete scene using just one stamp, creating an artistic, sketch-like composition.

Step by step

1. Stamp the complete Daydream stamp (Paris skyline with figure) onto copier paper to create a mask. ▶ watch 28:45
2. Cut out the figure from the copier paper mask carefully. ▶ watch 29:00
3. Position the mask onto your cardstock in the desired location for the figure. ▶ watch 29:15
4. Stamp the Paris skyline portion of the stamp on top of the mask, ensuring the figure area remains protected. ▶ watch 29:30
5. Remove the mask carefully to reveal the layered scene with the figure positioned over the skyline. ▶ watch 29:45
6. Optionally, add colour using alcohol markers, watercolour, or leave in monochrome for an artistic sketch effect. ▶ watch 30:00
7. Add one of the sentiment stamps such as 'Daydream' or 'Make a Wish' to complete the card. ▶ watch 30:15

Tips from the show

• Keep the mask very sketch-like without adding facial details; this maintains the artistic, illustrative quality of the design.
• Apply firm, even pressure when stamping over the mask to ensure the skyline stamps crisply without the mask shifting.
• The masking technique works perfectly for building complete scenes with just one stamp set.
