Step by step

  1. Paint a circle of masking fluid onto your card to create a moon shape, allowing it to dry for a couple of minutes. ▶ watch 11:30
  2. Wet your card with clean water using a flat watercolour brush. ▶ watch 12:00
  3. Apply blue watercolour ink to the wet card, creating a sky background and allowing the colour to move naturally. ▶ watch 12:15
  4. Stamp a silhouette arch design in green ink over the masked moon area. ▶ watch 12:30
  5. Stamp the same arch design again in black ink to create layered depth and definition. ▶ watch 13:00
  6. Stamp a small animal silhouette in black ink to add a focal point to your scene. ▶ watch 13:30
  7. Add a touch of watercolour to the stamped animal to give it dimension. ▶ watch 14:00
  8. Once dry, gently roll off the masking fluid with your finger to reveal the protected moon. ▶ watch 14:30
  9. Add a subtle watercolour wash inside the moon shape to give it dimension and a glowing effect. ▶ watch 15:00
